vindy came up with the idea to clean up T&T’s beaches. She didn’t mind that we weren’t getting paid. She just wanted to do it to set a good example. Now we are part of The BeeTTle Crew and although we have only cleaned 2 beaches so far, we have plans to do more if we can continue to get support from the corporate community.
Annelle helped organize and execute the “clean T&T’s beaches” projects…she gave us the name “The BeeTTle Crew” too.
Sabs is one of the coolest Pretender fans I know! She calls all these fans all over the world to talk about the awesome show The Pretender! When she talks you can just imagine the animated look on her face too and you can feel her enthusiasm and it is very infectious! I hope I get to meet her someday!
Bunji is a self-described “ghetto boy” but from what I have heard, he is very gentlemanly. He calls himself the “Black Spaniard” and is known for his very strong lyrics, but he avoids violence and promotes peace. Kudos to Bunji!
Bunji Garlin used to live very close to me in Arima, Trinidad and Tobago (West Indies), but I didn’t know him then. Not that I know him now, but I know of him and own two of his albums (Next Direction and Flamestorm.) I know that he grew up in Arima and still lives in that area though he has moved from where he used to live.
Faye-Ann’s song for 2006 which she sang for the 2006 International Soca Monarch Competition is “That is Carnival.” The song is a perfect example of great soca music, both lyrically and musically, and was written by Faye-Ann herself. She is indeed a talented young performer and I admire her lyrical skills. She also co-wrote songs with Ian Alvarez aka Bunji Garlin (“Somebody”) and Ronnie McIntosh (“Happy”) for 2006.
I have seen Faye Ann’s name spelt in too many different ways, in different places and sometimes even in the same “place” e.g. on some CDs where she is listed as vocalist and lyricist for some songs (“Send Dem” from “Flame Storm,” “Happy” and “Somebody” from “Next Direction”). Her name has been spelt as Fay-Ann, Faye-Ann, Faye Ann (my choice!) and even Fayann, Fayeann, Faye-anne (I think!). Could someone please show me her birth certificate!
She’s a talented actress and producer and she’s not afraid to take smaller roles in movies when they are worthy to bring to screen, like her role in “Crash” which was the first time I saw her play a “not so nice” person. She did a brilliant job with the role. My favorite movie is the funny and delightful comedy, “Miss Congeniality” which also stars the gorgeous Benjamin Bratt, whom Sandra constantly referred to as “Handsome Ben” in the DVD commentary. That was cute!
